When VSA Partners opened more than 30 years ago, it specialized in creating logos and other visual identifiers for brands like Harley-Davidson and IBM. But VSA expanded its offerings when Bill Rosen left his job as president and CCO of Arc Worldwide to join the shop in 2011.
That meant enhancing VSA’s capacity to handle both analytics and advertising. “We can be creative agency of record for a client but also help them rethink their packaging or positioning,” said SVP and engagement lead Curt Schreiber.
While design is still the largest practice at VSA, this approach has led to marketing briefs for brands including Kleenex, McDonald’s and Beam Suntory. In March, for 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey, the shop created a print and out-of-home campaign featuring literal imagery of whiskey drinks, like two redheads being old-fashioned on penny farthings and another of the gingers standing on the rocks in the countryside.
