An Art Director at VSA is charged with concepting and bringing to life creative and beautiful solutions to a range of client challenges. On one hand you’re a smart, insightful thinker and maker. On the other, a talented designer with an eye for detail and awareness of current design trends. This role is for someone who has already learned a lot but is also always curious to learn more. If you’re someone who loves an idea, geeks out on design and is always on board to help out where needed, then we really want to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Big platform campaign thinking and the ability to bring said platforms to life.
  • Conduct conceptual exploration, establish direction and design solutions, and ensure successful implementation of that direction through production.
  • Assist in defining creative direction by helping leadership establish art direction.
  • Participate in brainstorming and meetings to conceptualize ideas 
  • Understand and be flexible of client’s needs.
  • Not just a thinker, but a doer. You possess the exceptional design skills necessary to clearly and effectively bring new ideas to life.
  • Communicate, execute, critique, and finalize design in an efficient timeframe.
  • Present to clients and participate in pitches.
  • Establish benchmarks for the overall quality of work produced.
  • Assist Creative Director in overseeing the junior designers by serving as a mentor, answering questions, and providing feedback as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Art Direction and/or Design.
  • College Degree and/or portfolio school completion.
  • Experience working in an advertising agency with a portfolio that reflects your work 
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative suite.
  • Experience and knowledge of both traditional and emerging/social media platforms.
  • A commitment to high quality work and to positive and productive relationships with all - clients, team members, peers, managers, etc.
  • A collaborative, team-player mentality.
