VSA’s Senior Designer Javier Lopez will be judging the first round of the American Advertising Awards in Miami this weekend, February 7 and 8.
The American Advertising Awards, known as the ADDYs, acknowledges professional and student work in the art of advertising. Lopez will be judging English and Spanish entries across 70 professional and 30 student categories.
Lopez has played an integral role in the brand and creative development for a variety of VSA clients, including IBM, Serena del Mar, GE, and Kimberly Clark. In being chosen for the role, Lopez says he is looking for professional work that “exemplifies the most innovative way to convey a brand identity,” and student work that “has an ability to grasp a bigger picture than the assignment.”
American Advertising Foundation (AAF), the nation’s oldest advertising association, represents all facets of the advertising industry – blue chip corporate members, advertisers, agencies, media and students. Headquartered in Washington D.C., the AAF has 40,000 members nationwide. The annual event is a three-tier national competition. Across the country, local entries will be submitted for tier one. At the second tier, local winners will compete against winners from other local clubs across 15 different districts. The third tier will take the 15 district winners to the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.
