VSA Partners has brought on Avery Gross as Associate Partner, Executive Creative Director. Gross previously served as EVP, Executive Creative Director at Publicis New York, leading global creative for Citibank.
“When you’re building a new kind of creative agency, you need the kind of people who will drive next-level ideas. We believe we’ve found that with Avery,” shared Bob Winter, Parter, Executive Creative Director at VSA. “He’s an advertising unicorn—being both a great creative and a great human—and will bring a lot of powerful experience and insight to the table. I’m looking forward to making a lot of great work together in the near future.”
While at Publicis, Gross helped steer several major initiatives, including a global relaunch of the Citi consumer brand, a highly successful campaign integrated campaign for the Citi Double Cash card, and several Citibike activations. Prior to Publicis, Gross held Creative Director roles at Leo Burnett and Cramer-Krasselt, leading brands including McDonald’s, Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts, Patrón Spirits and ComEd, among others. His work as been recognized in the industry’s top awards, including multiple Cannes Lions, The Clios, the Effie Awards and The One Show.
“I’m looking forward to working with some of my former colleagues and meeting new talent as we continue to grow marketing and advertising at VSA,” shared Gross. “VSA has a very compelling narrative, and I believe their holistic, design-driven thinking is the tool clients need to navigate the changes they’re facing today. That mentality lends itself naturally to work that is as charismatic as it is strategic.”
Gross will lead creative from VSA’s New York office and will be working across VSA’s current client portfolio, with a heavy emphasis on new business opportunities. Gross’s hire comes just after VSA’s expansion to San Francisco and addition of agency vet Bob Silverman as its new CFO.
