To bring the virtues of Sappi’s workhorse brand, Opus, to life, VSA created a highly conceptual print promotion for the paper with universal appeal among designers, corporate marketers and printers.
VSA created a nontraditional promotion for Opus The Great Uniter of papers. We asked six of the country’s top designers to create six posters each one a personal depiction of the designer’s geographic region. Each was given a blank canvas to work with, resulting in posters incorporating fun and engaging uses of typography, illustration and photography. The posters served a dual purpose: to dramatize the superior print quality of the paper and to offer a somewhat surprising visual finale when the posters are united they form a map of the United States. Additionally, this promotion combined both the sheetfed and webfed formats into a single piece, a rarity among paper promotions.
