As its foray into the luxury handset market, Motorola launched AURA, a premium cell phone boasting an assisted-opening stainless steel blade, a 62-carat sapphire crystal lens, and the world’s first 16-million-color circular display.
Print advertising and point-of-sale materials for AURA heralded “The Return of Artistry” with portraits of cinematographer Rain Li and fashion designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville of Rag & Bone. VSA served as casting director and talent booking agent on this project in addition to its usual roles as art director, designer, writer and brand strategist. An AURA Style Guide developed by VSA helped to unify the work of Motorola’s partner agencies around the globe.
