To increase the readership of their quarterly magazine, the HHMI Bulletin, and provide new content experiences for their 36,400 print subscribers, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute worked with VSA to tap into the unique opportunities of the iPad.
VSA created a native application for HHMI that draws its content from the Web—a hybrid approach that lets HHMI publish the Bulletin’s content freely into a lightweight, portable format, while still taking full advantage of the device’s visual and functional capabilities. With an intuitive tool set and interface, the application also allows HHMI to expand the magazine’s reach by leveraging the broad distribution of the iTunes App Store.
