The Marketing Team is the engine that helps fuel VSA’s client list, reputation, culture, portfolio and bottom line. As the Content Marketing Intern, your charge is crafting kick-butt content and thought leadership, including social media content, case studies, video scripts, news articles and content for VSA's new podcast series. Working alongside the rest of the Marketing team, you'll help develop the best way to tell VSA's story and the best mediums to promote it. Relationship building and enthusiasm are key—think outside the box and don’t be afraid to share your ideas.

 

A little bit about the VSA Summer Internship Program: If you’re looking for another bullet point on your resume, look elsewhere. At VSA, like much of what we do, we take our internship program seriously. Which means our interns work on “real work,” with real meetings, deadlines, and business challenges from our brands and clients. This is the education you won’t get in a classroom. Consider it career practice, with the freedom to learn, make mistakes, refine, question and tag along. You’ll work with an individual mentor and supervisor in a unique cross-disciplinary environment focused on brand, communications, marketing and digital. As part of the larger program, you’ll take part in intern meetings, team outings, activities and initiatives (can you say networking?). And yes, it’s paid, with an hourly rate, for 40 hours/week, on-site. It starts June 4th. Bet you can’t wait for summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create at least one piece of content per week.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director of Production and Content Producer to brainstorm creative forms of content (videos, client testimonials, etc.)
  • Assist in the coordination of VSA’s newly minted podcast.
  • Target content to the right audiences with the help of VSA’s Strategy team and using SEO and Google AdWords.
  • Promote VSA’s unique POV across social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
  • Research ways to plug content and coordinate outreach with various media outlets.
  • Analyze VSA social and digital performance, including growth, engagement and competition.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a strong vocabulary, expertise in English usage, and comfort with multiple writing assignments at one time (AKA you’re an impressive, incredibly capable writer)
  • You are an entrepreneurial, problem-solving self-starter with a sense of humor!
  • Able to produce work quickly, observing and managing deadlines like a pro
  • Know Keynote, Microsoft Office programs and primary social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) inside and out 
  • Exceptional research skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Have the ability to work well in a very team-oriented culture, with the drive to fly solo when necessary
  • A major bonus: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
