VSA’s Technology Practice enables meaningful experiences between brands and their audiences. The practice creates new platforms that drive customer engagement and business transformation, new channels to foster communication and exchange, and new tools to instrument intelligence and behaviors.

The Technology Practice Lead is responsible for the vision, growth and management of the Technology Practice at VSA across all offices. Responsibilities extend to providing strategic guidance on digital and technology projects and processes across the enterprise, and outside of VSA as a thought-leader in the industry to raise VSA’s public profile.

  • You will oversee vision, planning, operations and resourcing for the technology practice, which includes front-end development, back-end development, technology strategy, product management and technology management.
  • Consulting with our clients and internal client teams on digital transformation and technology strategy for our clients.
  • You will strategically guide digital work on our most critical and high-profile clients, building relationships with those clients and ensuring that VSA’s product connects effectively across development, user experience, design, content, strategy and creative as required.
  • Manage and mentor the next level of leadership within the technology practice. 
  • You will lead internal digital and technology initiatives such as our corporate website, and champion projects identified by practice leadership. 
  • Support and define standards and processes for digital work across the company.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and drive technical experimentation within the agency.
  • Participate in new-business development, including opportunity identification, RFP responses, pitching, proposal creation, estimating of hours and staff effort, SOW creation, and project planning 
  • Develop thought leadership content and engage in public speaking engagements to raise awareness of VSA and provide thought leadership in the industry.
  • Play an advisory role with VSA IT in the vetting and selection of new business technology and tools.


  • 15+ years in software development, technology consulting and digital transformation
  • Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring teams, with 10+ years in a supervisory role
  • Computer science degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing technologies, including digital experience management, CMS, CRM, marketing automation and related platforms and tools.
  • Track record of driving innovation and adopting emerging technology such as artificial intelligence, augmented/virtual reality, IoT, or similar field.
  • Skilled facilitator and collaborator that is versed in design thinking 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to engage, persuade, and motivate clients, team members, and peers and to inspire collaboration
  • Experience scoping, estimating and planning development projects
  • Experience with DevOps and continuous integration processes
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and product management processes. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to deal with ambiguity and constant change
