The Director, Research and Analytics is responsible for generating new insights related to clients’ business behaviors and for recommending a wide variety of marketing strategies to improve results. A Director, Research and Analytics is expected to work independently by having a firm grasp on data structure and how to analyze data to address clients' business issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be widely familiar with descriptive and predictive analytics, and with specific tools to solve marketing problems, if possible including marketing mix analysis.

• Identify and use appropriate data sources and manipulate data to carry out in-depth quantitative analyses of clients’ existing data sets.  Some background in micro- or macro-simulation would be useful.

• Conduct and interpret primary quantitative research, e.g. surveys, segmentations, and market structure studies and/or supervise vendors doing this type of work.

• Determine meaningful insights from survey and other marketing research data, and provide recommendations to improve client’s strategy.

• Employ appropriate methodologies (encompassing type of data, time frame, calculations or statistical techniques, appropriate comparisons) to answer client business questions.

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of existing analyses and provide/receive feedback.

• Communicate clearly with the Director of Data Science, client project leaders, and other analysts to thoroughly understand client's needs, analyze data appropriately and deliver the work products to client's satisfaction.

• Design and create metric reports and management dashboards, including data visualization.

• Evaluate impact of programs through use of test design and analysis of programs and target audiences.

• Present findings verbally with clarity to internal and client audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Req. Master's degree in Economics, Marketing, Statistics or a quantitative field, and 8 years of related experience in marketing analytics, statistics, or quantitative economics. 

• 3 years of management consulting experience.

• 2 years of experience in media buying environment.

• 1 year of new business development experience.

• 1 year of client facing project experience.

• 3 years of experience with predictive analytics.

• 2 years of experience with optimizing advertising Marketing Mix and return on marketing investment.

• 1 year of conjoint or market basket analysis.

• 3 years of experience with Statistical Analysis System and Agent-Based Simulation (through the use of sophisticated statistical modeling techniques combined with precise consulting to provide actionable results). 

• Knowledge of additional statistical programming languages such as Python or R.
